Someone to Love

Eight years.

I've been married today for eight years. If we were exchanging presents - linen or lace, pottery or bronze. But, I don't think we are.

The road has been hard at times, we've had sickness and we've had health. We've been richer, and poorer. But always we have been happy in our love.

I, Diane, take you, Dave, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow.

Always, my love.
Always.

Pathways

Understand, I'll slip quietly
away from the noisy crowd
when I see the pale
stars rising, blooming, over the oaks.

I'll pursue solitary pathways
through the pale twilit meadows,
with only this one dream:
You come too.

Rainer Maria Rilke

May you always be as happy as you are now. May you be as happy as we are.
