Mission Statement

We are a people who tell stories in one form or another.
After all isn't blogging just another way to gather around and tell those stories?

Motherhood is Painless is about finding the humor in the every day. In finding the happiness in those stories that we tell. What would happen if we *all* learned to laugh at ourselves? Maybe then the dark corners would recede a bit and we would all rejoice at the love we find there.

Santa and the One-Track Toddler Mind

If you ask Claire what she wants from Santa Claus this year, she will happily tell you, "A Thomas train and a blue teddy bear."

Now ask her what she thinks Santa should bring for Daddy, "A blue teddy!"

Mommy? "Thomas!!"

How about BenBen? "A Little Teddy!"

Of course, this all came about after we finished her shopping. She's not getting a Thomas - she's getting GeoTrax, which are much cooler, non-licensed character trains from Fisher Price. You start of with push trains, and as you get older, you can swap out remote control ones on the same tracks. She's also getting a dollhouse, and dressup stuff. And I'm replacing her busted up old crayons with new ones, because crayons smell like Christmas morning to me. I always got them in my stocking.
