Easter 2009

This has been perhaps my least ambitious Easter on record.

Last year, I think (although I can't recall anymore) I did make it to church.
Not even a hope today, even with the church 5 measly blocks from the apartment.

I did read the Passion from St. Luke last night before I went to bed, and hummed "Welcome Happy Morning" while toasting bagels and scrambling eggs for breakfast.

(Also, checked the 75% department at the drug store for marked-down Easter candies while running errands.)

We had a great morning and afternoon - Claire was all sorts of charming, her Omi and Grampa John came down and we all tramped over to the park for some fun. Afterwards we went to the illustrious Pio Pio for a celebratory lunch. Man, did that hit the spot! I still marvel at such tasty, well-prepared and inexpensive food. Lunch for four hungry adults, and a hungry toddler for $36 in an attractive setting? In NYC? SWEET!!!

Then we came home and attempted to get Claire to nap. No such luck there. But the rest of us were able to eat some homemade pound cake that my mother-in-law brought down for us.

Now it's me and Claire playing while Dave naps. Perfect sunday. Dinner is going to be leftover chili, salad and brown rice. (I'm pondering making some tortilla bowls with the stale tortillas we've got.

How about you? How did you spend the weekend?
