Mission Statement

We are a people who tell stories in one form or another.
After all isn't blogging just another way to gather around and tell those stories?

Motherhood is Painless is about finding the humor in the every day. In finding the happiness in those stories that we tell. What would happen if we *all* learned to laugh at ourselves? Maybe then the dark corners would recede a bit and we would all rejoice at the love we find there.

Complaint Free Week? Can YOU do it?

Well, folks, I am one tired mama these days. That's not complaining, mind you, just simple truth.

I don't sleep well, and am running around all day...and I am finding myself more and more taking it out on the other members of the household. Claire is still so little and she doesn't understand that mama can't quite keep up like she used to...18 weeks pregnant and round as a ball, you understand.

Kayakboy is losing his patience with me too. And that's saying something, he's normally the rational one around here. I feel awful about it. I'm snappish and rude and that's not a good situation.

I need to rein it in. Yep.
So, imagine my delight when one of the blogs I read on a regular basis, Mrs. Fussypants, had a link to this today. Complaint-free week. Challenge yourself: For one week, I will not say anything negative. I will see the good in people, I will thank them for what they do, I will smile, I will be a blessing. I will learn to hold my tongue and enjoy the world.

I mean, it certainly can't hurt to try, right?
