Fight the Frump Friday

Hi People!

Rather than bitch and moan about Claire's not sleeping, or whatever else is going on, I'm going to talk about beauty products for a little while. They pull my *look* together a little bit with very little effort and really, make me just a little happy.

Psychological lipstick, I used to call it. Back when I was working, I remember hitting the afternoon slump, right around 3ish. Maybe you have a meeting, or maybe a certain toddler has been asking to play with your cell phone the whole afternoo.

I think everyone feels this way now and again. Sometimes you can't get to the vending machine, or step out to Starbux. But you can usually get into the bathroom and freshen up your face.

Go ahead.

Splash a little cool water on your face and dampen a washcloth or paper towel and wipe your neck. Doesn't that feel better? You're not really washing your face, so you don't have to worry about redoing your whole face. Put some fresh powder on your face, blot your nose, and reapply whatever lippy you were wearing that day.

Now, doesn't that feel better?

(I haven't been in the workplace since the spring of 2007, right before Claire was born, but I still do this. Once I get Claire settled for her nap, I take a break for myself. Usually I check my reader and watch my shows. But I always splash some water on my face and make sure I don't look totally ridiculous.)
