Mission Statement

We are a people who tell stories in one form or another.
After all isn't blogging just another way to gather around and tell those stories?

Motherhood is Painless is about finding the humor in the every day. In finding the happiness in those stories that we tell. What would happen if we *all* learned to laugh at ourselves? Maybe then the dark corners would recede a bit and we would all rejoice at the love we find there.

The week that was

Good gawd, this was one out and about week.

Monday, we went exploring in Jackson Heights. My friend A. and her little bitty girl, J. live there and I wanted to see it from a Mom's eye view. Not bad.

Tuesday and Wednesday were both Baby Bites Lunches. A nice group of mommies at both, but I am sort of done with the concept. I know a bunch of moms now, so I don't have to pay $35 to see each week. Never mind that Claire is getting to be a huge pain in restaurants these days. Then in the evening Auntie Jocy stopped by to catch up.

Thursday we took the train out to see the grandparents. Claire had a great time hanging with her Grandpa and took a little nap, while her Grandma and I went to Target and bought some fall/winter clothes for the small one. Then I got a much-needed (and supercheap) haircut.

Today we went to a different Target here in Queens and met Alli and her little guy Will. We shopped and then came home, where I twisted my knee and am now suffering just a mite.
